New Album Release

John and the Time Traveling Bicycle - The Acquisition of Memories

The Acquisition of Memories is Kentucky singer-songwriter, John D. Harmon's newest release under the moniker, John and the Time Traveling Bicycle. The album is a series of love letters and musings about mortality, youth, and existence. Harmon wrote and recorded the album in 2014 and 2015. Over the course of recording the album, John experienced the death of his mother, two uncles, and two close friends. Those events inspired the writing for much of the material on the album. As a result, the listener is taken on a trans-genre journey into the past, present, and future of this mountain born Artist and musician, struggling to decipher the arc of life.

Bio

John D. Harmon - Vocals, Guitars, Keyboard, Bass, Drum Programming

John and the Time Traveling Bicycle is the latest in a series of musical projects by Kentucky-based visual Artist and singer-songwriter, John D. Harmon.

Prior to his time as John and the Time Traveling Bicycle, Harmon spent from 1994 to 2007 as a founding member of several Central Kentucky-based bands, including: Chiaroscuro (1994-2000), Attic Down (2000-2003), and Van Gogh Sky (2005-2007). Upon relocating to San Diego in 2008, Harmon recorded and released the 2009 studio project/electronic album, “Life in the Temporary,” under the moniker, Carriage House Saints.

After taking a three year break from live performances in order to focus on writing new music, Harmon took the stage again in 2011 for his inaugural show as, John and the Time Traveling Bicycle.

On JatTTB's debut album, “Life as a Kite,” Harmon went back to his West Virginia roots, writing acoustic guitar-based music that blended flavors of Mountain Folk, Jazz, and Soul. Harmon wrote and performed all parts, as well as producing and engineering the project. After playing with a full band in support of the debut, Harmon returned to solo shows in 2014, performing only select dates while he worked on new material.

The second offering from JatTTB, “The Acquisition of Memories,” was released on November 27, 2015. Although Harmon again was the sole writer and performer on the recording, he moved away from the heavily acoustic guitar-based style of "Life as a Kite," bringing a fuller, more electric sound to the audience on his sophomore offering.

As well as designing the cover Art for the JatTTB and Carriage House Saints albums, Harmon also designs and builds all of his music and Art websites. You can find his fine Art, HERE.
